Peer-to-peer lender Assetz Capital has appointed a regional relationship director in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
Chris Mason has experience across the banking sector, having worked in the industry for 37 years. Mason started his career at Barclays where he worked for 21 years. He has also worked as a property finance new business director at the Bank of Scotland, subsequently as a property finance broker and most recently as a corporate banker with Handelsbanken.
In his new position at Assetz Capital, Mason will operate mainly across East Anglia, the East Midlands and London. He will work with brokers and intermediaries to provide businesses and property developers with development finance, property investment finance, commercial mortgages and bridging loans.
Mason said: “I’m pleased to be joining Assetz at an exciting time for the company and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with businesses from across the area. I am particularly keen to have the chance to help property developers and investors to realise their growth potential.
“My new role will allow me to have much greater flexibility when considering funding requests in comparison to the more traditional lenders. At Assetz, I now have the opportunity to offer tailored funding packages to support the ambitions of our customers.”
Stuart Law, chief executive officer and founder at Assetz Capital, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Chris to our growing team. He has spent many years working in the industry, and his experience in the commercial lending space will have a huge impact on our deal origination in the South, supporting customers with specific finance needs through their funding journey.
“As we continue to build upon our lending milestones, we’re confident that Chris will help to accelerate our deal activity in East Anglia, East Midlands, London and the South East.”
Assetz Capital is a member of NatWest’s referral panel for SME customers, Capital Connections.
