Lindsay Town, a veteran of the asset finance industry, has been appointed non-executive chairman of The Asset Works, an advisory and service provider to the leasing sector.
Town, who is also managing director of Kent Asset Solutions, an asset finance company, will advise The Asset Works on strategy.
Town has more than 35 years experience in leasing and financial services, including board roles at the Bank of Scotland and the Finance & Leasing Association.
He began his career at North West Securities before joining Barclays Mercantile in 1978. After working for Security Pacific, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Lloyds TSB and PwC, Town joined Halifax, now HBOS, to lead and build a new asset finance business. In 2006, he was promoted to the board of Bank of Scotland, corporate, in 2006.
In May, The Asset Works released a new product, which lets companies scan labels attached to assets using a smartphone, and check asset data online.
