Asset and commercial finance broker Anglo Scottish Asset Finance has expanded into the Republic of Ireland with the launch of a dedicated division, AS Finance Ireland.
The move is described by the company as the “next logical step” in its strategic growth plan and builds on several years of activity in Northern Ireland, according to a press release.
As part of the expansion, Anglo Scottish, based in Durham, has appointed Cathy McGale to its Irish team. McGale brings more than 25 years of experience in the asset and commercial finance sector, with the company highlighting her “cross-border business expertise” as key to strengthening its presence in the Irish market.

Carl Johnson, Sales Director for the UK and Ireland, said the creation of AS Finance Ireland reinforced the company’s commitment to delivering “bespoke and tailored financial services” to Irish businesses. He added that McGale’s appointment would help Anglo Scottish offer “financial solutions tailored to the distinct challenges and opportunities in the Irish market”.
McGale said she was “delighted” to join the company at a time of growth and looked forward to contributing to its presence in the Republic of Ireland.
Since beginning operations in early January, AS Finance Ireland has already completed transactions worth several million euros, the company confirmed.
