Following the recent senior management
reshuffle, fleet leasing company Alphabet has appointed a new head
of fleet management.

Martyn Gallop takes on the newly created role
in the operational management team.

Before joining Alphabet, Gallop held the post
of operations director with Fleet Logistics for five years and held
the same post with Hitachi Vehicle Solutions. Before Hitachi, he
was client services director with Arval.

In an interview with Leasing Life
last month, Alphabet CEO Richard Schooling said following his own
appointment the company were aiming to become a top five fleet
provider.

He said that new appointments were imminent
and identified the development of fleet management products as key
to the company’s growth.

Gallop will be responsible for developing
fleet and driver management services and said the opportunity to
join Alphabet as it grows was not one to miss.

Schooling said: “Martyn’s knowledge,
experience and abilities are widely known and respected in the
industry. His appointment reflects the strategic importance of
fleet and driver management and outsourcing in Alphabet’s
development plans.”

Alphabet has created a series of new
operational management roles in the UK over the past nine months
since gaining operational independence from parent company BMW
Financial Services. These appointments including Nigel Trotman as
head of strategic consulting, Russell Cain as accident management
and insurance manager and Jane White and implementation
manager.

Further key new appointments are expected by
Alphabet in the next few weeks.
