Volvo Financial Services (VFS) has scooped its
latest deal with UK healthcare waste services company SRLC for the
financing of 14 Volvo trucks.

The captive arm of the Swedish truck
manufacturer is providing 14 FM and FE distribution trucks on a
full contract hire to SRLC, which provides services to NHS trusts,
GPs and healthcare firms across the UK.

The latest deal follows a number of agreements
with VFS signed in the past few years. In 2009, SRLC acquired 13
trucks from Volvo and 93 of its trucks – out of a fleet of 294
vehicles – are now on a full contract hire with the captive.

SRCL’s fleet engineer Laurence Mullikin said:
“Vehicle acquisition by contract hire is our long term policy, but
we do not just hand out repeat orders. Not only do we look at all
brands every year, but we also shop around for our contract hire
provider and include people like Ryder and Fraikin. Volvo’s
contract hire product has remained competitive.”

Mullikin cited Volvo’s servicing offer and its
Dynafleet telematics system – which shows current location of
vehicles, fuel consumption, driver times, and service intervals –
as reasons to for choosing VFS.
