ALPHABET APPOINTS UK HEAD OF REMARKETING

Alphabet, BMW Group’s car and van commercial leasing division, has appointed a head of remarketing for the UK.

Sacha Imamkhan has joined from Alphabet’s headquarters in Munich, where she had been project manager for new markets since 2015. She has covered a number of positions in BMW Group’s financial services division, as well as at ING Lease.

She played a key role in the integration of the Dutch group’s car leasing business into Alphabet following its €637m (£563m at the time) acquisition in 2011. In her new role, she will oversee the defleeting and remarketing of all of Alphabet UK’s vehicles, heading a 15-strong team in Farnborough.

She will report to Alphabet’s UK chief operating officer, Nigel Fletcher.

HENRY HOWARD FINANCE HIRES HEAD OF HR AND COMPLIANCE

Newport-based Henry Howard Finance Group (HHF) has appointed a head of HR and compliance, intended to support the funder’s recruitment drive.

Melissa Rees, from Bridgend, South Wales, has over 14 years’ experience in HR leadership and compliance oversight roles in the financial services sector. She joins the business from Vauxhall Finance, where she held the role of UK deputy moneylaundering reporting officer and senior compliance specialist.

Rees has been appointed to help the business identify and manage regulatory risks through the development of a robust compliance and operational risk management framework.

An employment law graduate at Swansea Metropolitan University, Rees has held professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development by qualification since 2003, and is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

HILTON-BAIRD DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO CICM’S EXECUTIVE BOARD

Victoria Herd, collection services director at Hilton-Baird, has been appointed to the executive board of trustees at the Chartered Institute of Credit Management
(CICM).

As a trustee, Herd will work with other experts in the UK’s credit industry and provide the institute’s members with support, advice and career development. Herd has been a director at Hilton-Baird since July 2017.

Previous roles include value director at Beyond Funding, receivables management lead at Deloitte UK, and credit controller at Siemens.

IGF APPOINTS FORMER SANTANDER EMPLOYEE AS ABL DIRECTOR

Independent Growth Finance (IGF) has appointed an asset-based lending director. Neil Kindness has over 30 years’ experience in invoice finance and assetbased lending. Most recently he was an invoice finance and asset-based lending specialist at Santander, for over four years.

Prior to this, Kindness held senior positions at GMAC, GE Commercial Finance and Landsbanki. At IGF, Kindness will be responsible for developing IGF’s presence in Scotland as it continues to expand its offering throughout the UK.

MIDLANDS ASSET FINANCE APPOINTS FORMER LLOYDS DIRECTOR

Midlands Asset Finance (MAF) has appointed a relationship manager for the East Midlands.

Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Rachel Borlace has joined the business to support SME and corporate clients in Nottinghamshire with asset finance, invoice finance and property funding.

Working for Barclays, NatWest and most recently Lloyds over the last 22 years, Borlace joins MAF after spending the last three years working as a relationship director. Borlace is the second female relationship manager to join MAF in recent weeks, following the appointment of Kimberley Stephenson in July.

Eight other members of staff have joined the business in the last 12 months, including Stuart Buchan, formerly of Lombard, Craig Bennett, John Horne and Tom Gawne.
