US-based company Citigroup’s IT hiring rose 27.9% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 25.65% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed an 18.49% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 1.29% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Citigroup IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Citigroup, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 67.34% in August 2021, and a 50.46% rise over July 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 16.58% in August 2021, and registered growth of 76.59%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.18% in August 2021, an 82.43% rise from July 2021.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Citigroup
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 50.21% share, which marked a 49.32% rise over the previous month.
North America stood next with 29.36%, registering a 47.7% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 16.81% share and a 146.31% rise over July 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.93% and a month-on-month increase of 12.28%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.69%, registering a 25% rise over the previous month.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 33.81% share in August 2021, a 40.57% growth over July 2021. US featured next with a 17.13% share, up 25.93% over the previous month. China recorded a 9.57% share, an increase of 32.28% compared with July 2021.
Mid Level jobs lead Citigroup IT hiring activity in August 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 53.6%, up by 63.41% from July 2021. Junior Level positions with a 28.91% share, a growth of 68.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 10.72% share, up 47.17% over July 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 6.78%, recording a month-on-month increase of 8.82%.
