Lindsay Town, a veteran of the asset finance
industry, has been appointed non-executive chairman of The Asset
Works, an advisory and service provider to the leasing
sector.
Town, who is also managing director of Kent
Asset Solutions, an asset finance company, will advise The Asset
Works on strategy.

Town has more than 35 years experience in
leasing and financial services, including board roles at the Bank
of Scotland and the Finance & Leasing Association.

He began his career at North West Securities
before joining Barclays Mercantile in 1978. After working for
Security Pacific, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Lloyds TSB
and PwC, Town joined Halifax, now HBOS, to lead and build a
new asset finance business. In 2006, he was promoted to the board
of Bank of Scotland, corporate, in 2006.
In May, The Asset Works released a
new product, which lets companies scan labels attached to assets
using a smartphone, and check asset data online.
