UK leasing business up 4% in July – FLA

The asset finance sector made £1.82bn (2.26bn) in new business in July, according to the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA). The figure represents a 4% rise on the same period last year, but is down 1% on the £1.84bn volume recorded for June. Major areas for the growth year-on-year were plant and machinery and IT equipment, up 20% and 31% respectively, while there was no change in the commercial vehicle sector, and car finance fell by 2%.

CHP among top firms for graduate jobseekers

CHP Consulting has been listed as the 15th best company to work for by users of UK graduate job review site TheJobCrowd.The leasing and asset finance consultancy and software house is the third best consultancy to work for, joining top names such as IBM, Capgemini, KPMG and PwC on the list.

WestWon acquires Capex lease book

The acquisition, WestWons tenth in five years, gives the firm full rights to the Capex brand name, client base and lease agreements and is part of a three-pronged growth plan of organic expansion, investment in its internet arm, and selective acquisitions. Jeremy Hall, WestWon chief executive, said he had always admired the Capex brand and said acquisition of the company, which specialises in IT leasing and has a multi-million pound book funded by the likes of BNP Paribas, Investec, ING Lease, Siemens Financial Services and the Bank of Scotland, was aligned with WestWons current and future business model
