Ex-lease truck sales 80% up at Ukraine’s Euro Leasing

Ukrainian lessor Euro Leasing has reported an 80 percent increase in ex-lease truck sales, the company has announced. Anastasiya Steklova, sales and marketing director at Euro Leasing, commented: The sales increase is the result of sound pricing policy and developed distribution channels, which help selling ex-lease vehicles in the shortest possible time.

Italian government and banks discuss moratorium on leasing loans

Italy’s Treasury, banks and their leasing subsidiaries and the country’s employers’ organisation Confindustria are in talks for giving Italian firms a one-year moratorium on leasing and mortgage loans. The moratorium which should freeze for 12 months a reimbursement of the capital part of company loans on both leasing and mortgage loans is aimed at helping struggling small and medium-sized firms.

Europe’s CV registrations drop 37% in six months

CV registrations across Europe dropped almost 40 percent in six months, according to figures recently published by ACEA. Europes vehicle manufacturers association said that over the first half of the year, 883,301 new vehicles were registered a 37.2 drop compared with a year ago, when registrations in the first six months came close to 1.5 million units. In the January-June 2009 period, new van registrations decreased by 36.5 percent across Europe.

CV production in Europe drops by over 50% in Q1 2009

CV production in Europe was more than halved in Q1 2009, according to a recent report realised by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) Van and truck production fell by 57 pecent and 56 percent respectively, a much heavier decline than the 31 percent fall recorded for the manufacture of passengers cars

Italease buyout fails again, delisting is delayed

A second offer to buy out Banca Italease fell short, after the Italian lessors main shareholder Banco Popolare failed to reach the 90 percent threshold needed to delist the company.

Italy’s Liscor launches new risk product

The Milan-based company said that Forward WEB, which is a front-middle office solution for vendor finance providers, now offers a comprehensive set of features to risk and credit department users, helping to support the risk evaluation and credit decision processes. Liscor’s director Stefano Galleni said that key features of the new solution include a comprehensive credit assessment management, a scoring engine that allows scoring algorithms evaluation using configurable scorecards and a function called dynamic reporting, for a wide variety of regulations.

New director general for Italy’s Banca Agrileasing

Rome-headquartered Banca Agrileasing has appointed a new director general. The management board of Italys fourth biggest lessor has unanimously chosen Enrico Duranti as the companys new head. He replaces Lamberto Cioci, who has been the companys director general for over 11 years and vice director general for an additional 11 years.

VW Financial Services enters Norwegian market

Volkswagen Financial Services (VW FS) has signed a joint venture with a Norwegian importer to enter the countrys leasing market. The finance arm of the German carmaker has just secured a deal with Norwegian importer Mller Gruppen, as it plans to offer financial services on the Norwegian market for the first time starting at the end of 2009

IFLA looking for new UK member

The International Finance and Leasing Association (IFLA) is looking for a new member from the UK to extend the network of countries it currently covers. The association, which has 27 members from as many countries worldwide but with a strong European focus, has said it intends to add a new UK member after British lessor Lombard left the association last year.

UK CV registrations down 41% in June, says SMMT

New truck and van registrations in the UK dropped by an average 41 percent in June, according to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The trade body for the UK vehicle industry said that new truck registrations were down 47.2 percent in June 2009 compared with the same period last year.
