Lombard scoops large deal with Nationwide Maintenance
RBS-owned Lombard has won a tender to provide and manage a fleet of 190 vans and cars for building maintenance services company Nationwide Maintenance. The deal includes 150 Citroen vans on contract hire, which Lombard is supplying with racking, signage and vehicle tracking

VR Leasing expects return to profitability in 2010
Germanys VR Leasing expects to go back to profitability this year, after recording a loss from ordinary activities totalling 18.8 million in 2009. This follows Februarys results, when the company said that new business volume was almost unchanged at 2.24 billion a 3.4 percent reduction compared with 2008. Presenting the full 2009 results at VR Leasings annual conference in Frankfurt, the lessors CEO Reinhard Goedel said that the loss was not a surprise, due to a hike in loan loss provisions.
ALD Automotive wins sole supply fleet deal
ALD Automotive has won a sole supply fleet deal with locksmith, glass repair and replacement business Evander Glazing & Locks to provide 170 light commercial vehicles.
Broadway: used van and truck finance deals on the rise
Used van and truck finance deals are increasing for the first time since the recession began, according to Broadway Motor Company. The GE-owned used light commercial vehicle specialist said that the number of used vans and trucks are now double the level of 12 months ago. According to Ian Griffiths, national sales leader at Broadway, the new trend is attributable to more used buyers opting for finance, as well as more of them being accepted for finance.
BCA: used van prices still rising
A strong demand continued to fuel prices in the UK used light commercial vehicle market last month, British Car Auction (BCA) figures have shown. Average LCV values were £4,500 (5,122) in March, 1.8 percent down compared to February, but almost £1,000 above March 2009 figures.

Crdit Agricole Leasing and Eurofactor have officially merged to form Crdit Agricole Leasing & Factoring The two specialised financial subsidiaries of Frances Crdit Agricole Group started merger discussions last year, as reported by Leasing Life in March 2009.
Venture Finance sees increase in new client numbers
Venture Finance saw a 75 percent increase in its Q1 2010 new client numbers, compared with Q1 2009 The company added that new clients taking its package that includes bad debt protection – to shield against customer insolvency – also grew by one third.
Lombard wins 350-van deal contract with WDC
Lombard has been reappointed by with social housing provider Wakefield District Housing (WDH) for the supply of a fleet of over 350 vans on an exclusive basis. Lombard said it is providing WDH with a comprehensive technical solution, handling the design and build of the vans, with differing specifications to suit different uses.
Sardaleasing increases market share in core market
Despite a 12 percent fall in new business volume, Italys Sardaleasing increased the number of contracts by around 6 percent last year and almost doubled its market share in the Sardinian leasing market. The lessor said that new business was 461 million, down from the 523 million recorded in 2008, but still above the overall Italian market, which saw a 35 percent decline.
