Lenders offload more RV risk onto insurers in response to credit crunch
While last month credit insurers faced up to a future of hardship and downturn, caused mainly by growing numbers of companies entering administration and not being able to pay their bills, some of their counterparts in the much-smaller industry of residual value insurance were, by contrast, distinctly more optimistic. QBE Insurance (Europe) Limited said it has seen a two- to three-fold increase in the number of inquiries from lessors looking to pass on residual value risk. Nick Hunt, of Lease & Loan Insurance Services Ltd, meanwhile said he thought it likely that will be an upturn in RVI business as lessors seek to spread risk, but added that his own company was at present cautious around seeking new business in this market.

ING Lease Poland CEO expects tough year ahead

It has recently expanded its European presence by entering markets such as Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland, and has approved a plan to further expand activities in other countries, particularly in emerging markets, expecting to enter at least 10 more in the next five years
