CAL&F finances new aquatic centre in Loir-et-Cher
Frances Crdit Agricole Leasing & Factoring (CAL&F) has financed the construction of a new aquatic centre in Controis, in the administrative division of Loir-et-Cher. The aquatic centre, which opened to the public at the beginning of July, was financed and built by CAL&F based on a 20-year Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract with the Vinci Group
Leasedrive Velo gets more Scope
Leasing and fleet management company Leasedrive Velo has extended a deal with disability charity Scope for a further three years. The lessor will provide contract hire for new vehicles and ongoing fleet management of Scopes fleet, which comprises 225 vehicles, as well as accident management and short-term vehicle rental. Graziella Altieri, senior category manager at Scope, said: Our decision to renew the contract was based on Leasedrive Velos proactive approach and its dedicated teams responsiveness to our requirements.
Keep IT projects short and focused
When sales drop, its hard to justify outlay on information technology, says consultant Nic Evans. Although there has not yet been a marked revival in orders for software, vendors have been active in releasing new versions of existing products as they seek to remain competitive in a market with fewer potential clients. Consolidation in the market includes Cassiopaes acquisition of InfoParc, a Paris-based fleet management software provider, and White Clarkes acquisition of Nexus Business Solutions.
VR Leasing to work with EIB on SME discount
German lessor VR Leasing is to offer its SME customers a discount through parent bank DZ Bank, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB). Customers with 250 employees or fewer will be offered a 25-basis point reduction on lease agreements worth between 125,000 and 12.5m, lasting between 48 and 60 months, on items such as machinery and medical equipment.

New car finance up 15%
Car finance on new cars increased 15% by volume in May compared to the same period last year, with more than half of all buyers using dealer finance, according to figures released by the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA)
Hannover Leasing wins PV deal in Southern Italy
German lessor Hannover Leasing is financing the construction of three additional photovoltaic (PV) plants in Apulia, southern Italy, following the financing of six power plants which have been in operation in the same area since the end of 2009.

EFL wins recognition for ‘expertise and professionalism’
Polish lessor Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy (EFL) has received a total of five accolades between February and June this year. At the beginning of the year, business publication Rzeczpospolita ranked the Crdit Agricole subsidiary first out of 525 competitors in the category Best Financial Institution of 2009. EFL was also the first leasing institution to be awarded high reputation status by management agency MMT.
