Volvo Truck has been chosen
to supply eight trucks to Towens Group, the Weston-super-Mare
based company that operates in the construction and waste
sectors.

Towens Group, which plans to intensify its presence in the waste
and recycling industry, said that Volvo’s reliability, the fact
that the vehicles it provides are Euro 5 compliant and a higher
fuel economy compared with the trucks replaced were among the

Towens chairman Andy Towens said: “We’re loyal to the brand and
this is supported by Volvo’s excellent durability. We tend to keep
the trucks for at least ten years and the current oldest on my
fleet is a 1999 registered vehicle which is still going
strong.”

“The key is looking after your customers consistently through
thick and thin and the robust Volvo product and Dealer support help
us achieve this aim,” he added.

Towens’s fleet comprises of 35 trucks, of which 28 are Volvo’s.
The new added trucks were skiploaders, tippers and tractor
units.
