Traditional sheet
metal
- Demand remains generally slow
throughout the UK. Bulk quantities of equipment are attracting
interest from potential overseas customers and we are aware of
Indian interest in recent months.
CNC press brakes
- Demand remains steady for large
capacity premium brand manufacturers. A shortage of good quality
equipment in the second user market place increasing demand from
dealer purchasers.

By GlobalDataGuillotines
- Steady demand throughout the past 12
months with greatest interest for heavy duty equipment.
Laser cutting
- Demand remains reasonable with a
slight uplift in recent months for late model equipment (up to
seven years) from leading manufacturers. Very limited demand for
older equipment or equipment not fully serviced.
Power presses
- Decline within the UK press-work
sector due to continued decline in automotive and general
manufacturing sectors during late 2009. Increase in demand seen
during 2010 due to slight upturn in automotive sector.
Punch presses
(CNC)
- Demand primarily for well equipped
premium brand equipment. Limited demand from within the UK for
older equipment with most sales to purchasers in developing
economies.
Welding and
fabrication
- Relatively unchanged during the past
12 months with limited interest being shown from UK
purchasers.
