with the appointment of Andy Sopp as business
development manager in the South East of England. He joins with
more than 26 years’ experience in the finance and banking sector
having previously been managing director of a business brokerage in
East Anglia, a development manager at NatWest and an asset funder
in the motor trade.

GE COMMERCIAL FINANCE

kGE Commercial Finance has announced the expansion of its
business development team in Southern England with the appointment
of Lorrae Hayes and Jo Forde.
Hayes joins from GMAC, where she spent four years. Previously she
held positions at Tenon Corporate Finance, Rose Bowl plc and
NatWest. Forde held positions in the trade finance division of
Royal Bank of Scotland and also spent a year with Grant Thornton,
working in the Southern England corporate finance origination team.
Both report to Stephen Merchant, director for the region.

Sharon Sime has joined Fleet Alliance as
business development executive to head up its recently formed
asset-finance division. She comes with 20 years’ experience of the
sector, including posts with Clydesdale Bank.

Lombard has promoted Mark Coe to director of
asset finance for its retail and commercial business in Essex. Coe
has been with Lombard for 14 years and, prior to this role, he was
relationship manager in South East England, where he covered a
portfolio of clients across the Maidstone area.

CAPITAS FINANCE

Mike Bethwaite has joined Capitas Finance as
associate director for Automotive. Previously, he worked at Shell
Capital and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Healthcare.

KBC LEASE

Ian Credland has been appointed manager for
arrears and collections at KBC Lease. He was previously with Singer
& Friedlander Finance as litigation manager.

MICROSOFT FINANCING

Microsoft Financing has appointed Richard McClintock-
Brown
as enterprise sales manager. Previous to joining the
company, he was with Oracle Financing.

CHG MERIDIAN

Jacqueline Tait has joined CHG Meridian as a
sales support manager. She has a wealth of experience in the
leasing industry having worked at CIT for a number of years.

DE LAGE LANDEN

De Lage Landen has appointed David Siequien as
European programme manager for the technology sector. He joins from
HP Financial Services.

WRAGGE & CO LLP

Wragge & Co LLP, a UK fullservice law firm, has boosted its
asset finance litigation practice with the appointment of
Greg Standing from May 1. Standing, an expert in
asset finance litigation, will be a partner in the finance,
insolvency, recoveries and sales team.

EXPERIAN

Experian has announced that Gary Wood is to be
the new head of its decision analytics division. Wood, former MD of
ABM Ltd, joined the data company’s decision analytics fraud &
identity solutions division in 2002.

CFC SOLUTIONS

Neville Briggs has been promoted to the
position of managing director at CFC Solutions, a specialist in
technology for fleets. He already holds, and will retain, the same
role at CFC’s sister company, Pinewood Computer Solutions, a
position he has held for 10 years. He replaces Andy
Leech
, who has left the company.

NOMIS SOLUTIONS

Alan Swindells has joined Nomis Solutions, a
pricing specialist for the financial and banking sectors, as head
of professional services. Swindell has worked in finance technology
for more than 15 years, most recently with electronic payments
company VeriFone.

NORTON ROSE

Davide Barzilai has been promoted to the
position of partner of the Islamic finance team of international
law firm Norton Rose. The position makes him the effective joint
head of the firm’s Islamic finance division. Other heads are
Neil D. Miller and Farmida Bi. He
joined the London office of Norton Rose LLP in 2003 and moved to
Singapore in 2005, where he was responsible for the Asian part of
the group’s Islamic finance practice. Davide returned to London in
September 2007.

SMH SMITH HODGKINSON

Chris Matthews has been appointed as director
of plant and machinery at SHM Smith Hodgkinson, experts in
commercial and industrial asset and property valuation and
disposal. He arrives from Dovebid, where he was European operations
director and specialised in providing professional valuation and
asset management advice. He was directly involved in many large
disposals, including BA Concorde.

LEADER VENTURES

Renee Baker, the former managing director and
cofounder at Dominion Capital Management, a venture leasing firm,
has been appointed managing director of Leader Ventures, a private
investment firm offering blended debt and equity financing.
Dominion Capital focuses on lending to early-stage venture
capitalbacked companies in the technology, life science and
communication industries.
