Sanpaolo Leasint, the leasing arm of Italian banking group
Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, has reported a net profit of €46.8m for the
first half of 2008, up 22.7 per cent from the figure for the same
period in 2007.
Total value of leasing contracts in the first half of the year
was reported at €3.3bn, a 4.6 per cent rise year-on-year, while
total value of loans extended during the same period was reported
at €18.1bn. This represents an 11.7 per cent rise on figures from
2007’s first half.

Parent group Intesa Sanpaolo SpA was formed from banks Banca
Intesa SpA and SanPaolo IMI, when their merger became effective on
January 2, 2007. Sanpaolo Leasint occupies a 13.9 per cent share of
the Italian Leasing market.
