MAN Financial Services (MAN FS) has won a deal
to finance 19 new MAN ten tonne rigids for B&Q, the UK
do-it-yourself chain.
These are the first ever MAN trucks for
B&Q, which traditionally used a mixed fleet of light vans and
18 tonners for its home delivery services.

James Prest, B&Q’s home delivery regional
contract manager, said: “With our product portfolio continuing to
expand, and with an ever-increasing customer base, a versatile
transport solution was required for urban and rural
deliveries.”
He said: “The smaller 10 tonne chassis still
provides us with an excellent payload. However, it’s a much
smaller, more manoeuvrable, less obtrusive truck, and that’s good
news for other road users and for neighbourhoods where large 18
tonners are cumbersome and undesirable.”
The trucks are being financed on a five
year contract, B&Q said.
