Lex Autolease has reported a “successful
debut” at Manheim Auctions, based in Wimbledon.

The first auction attracted more than 200
buyers, including 38 via online broadcasting system Simulcast,
bidding for the 104 cars on offer.

Cars sold include a 2007 Audi A4 with 39,350
miles, which sold for £14,500, a 2008 Land Rover Freelander with
24,000 miles for £18,900, and a 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK with 20,000
miles for £19,700.

Simon Rossiter, senior manager in valuations
and auctions at Lex Autolease said he was “delighted” with the
results.

Brett Henderson, auction centre manager at
Wimbledon, added: “The good stock offered attracted a strong buyer
attendance which resulted in some very lively bidding.”

The new Lex Autolease programme is to take
place on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.
