Leasing services are still not a
mainstream option for Bulgarian businesses despite the robust
development of the market, a survey commissioned by Raiffeisen
Leasing has found.

According to a Reuters news report, GfK Bulgaria conducted the
survey which polled vehicle, construction and transportation
equipment vendors based in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna last
December.

GfK found that the Bulgarian market was served by a large number
of leasing companies but no select group was dominant.

The most popular intermediary between businesses and leasing
companies were banks in their existing relationship with clients.
It is the go-between in more than a third of leasing deals, GfK
reported.  Another 26 per cent of deals were arranged through
the provider of leased assets, suggesting a significant amount of
captive deals.

Automobiles were the most popular assets leased, accounting for
57.8 per cent of all contracts. This was followed by trucks with
13.9 per cent and industrial equipment with 12.1 per cent.
