Network, the fleet broker arm of LeasePlan UK,
has implemented the e-procurement platform from online solutions
company Ebbon-Dacs across its network of franchisees.

The Leaselink platform, which allows brokers
to source and order new fleet vehicles electronically, is expected
to deliver cost savings of 10 to 15 percent over traditional
methods of sourcing vehicles, the Oxford-based company has
said.

Mike Thompson, Network account director, said
that the solution was in line with the company’s goal to give
franchisees the means to make their business “as efficient and cost
effective as possible”.

“It completely automates the sourcing and
order process, providing a clear audit trail, and tracks orders
through the system so that the user can see where an order is at
any one time simply by pushing a button,” he said.

Leaselink is currently being employed by some
of the UK’s largest contract hire and leasing companies,
including Network’s parent, LeasePlan UK.

Rob Pilkington, MD of Leaselink International,
commented: “E-procurement has been shown to deliver savings in
vehicle acquisition costs straight to the bottom line, and we are
confident that Network’s brokers will see all of these benefits for
themselves over time.”
