LeasePlan has officially begun leasing activities in Mexico.
The European lessor, which already operates in 29 other
countries worldwide, had been investigating the possibility to
start an office in Mexico for some time.

Because of the economic downturn, it recently announced it would
slow down the expansion plans in several countries.
However, it decided that it would still open a leasing business
in Mexico because it saw a “promising new market” there.
LeasePlan’s CEO Vahid Daemi highlighted: “Since 2007,
operational leasing in Mexico has become more favourable from a tax
perspective and we believe that mainly due to this, the fleet
management market in Mexico will grow exponentially in the near
future.”
