The Leicester-based company, whose 150-unit fleet have been
provided by Scania for the last three years, ordered the trucks
after running a Stralis demonstrator for about a month.

Harry Hawksworth, technical director of Widdowson, said that
rising prices from most companies had convinced Widdowson to
“consider other options” in the market.

The tractors will be used on general haulage nationwide,
covering up approximately 85,000 miles a year.
