Latvia’s largest leasing company Hansa Lizings posted a 16 per
cent rise in profit to 8.505m lats(€12.1m) in profit 
last  year according to financial indicators published in
Latvian official daily, Latvijas Vestnesis.

Hansa Lizings sales department head Daniils Rulovs told 
the Baltic News Service that the company has been working at
improving its profitability since 2004 by increasing its sales,
optimizing its internal procedures as well as creating new products
with added value.

“This year we also plan to work at increasing efficiency,” he
said.

Rulovs said the company’s loan portfolio was 722 million lats at
the end of 2007. He said Hansa was aiming to increase the portfolio
by 10 to 15 per cent this year with growth coming from the
industrial sector.

Hansa Lizings, which is part of the Hansabanka group, is the
largest leasing company in Latvia. It commanded 38.6 per cent of
Latvia’s leasing and factoring market in 2007, according to data
from the Latvian Leasing Companies Association.
