Former director general of the Finance
and Leasing Association (FLA), Martin Hall, was awarded the MBE in
the 2007 New Year’s Honours List for his contribution to the
finance industry.

The FLA has welcomed the announcement. In a statement chairman,
David Betteley, said: “The honour bestowed on Martin reflects his
significant contribution to the consumer credit, motor finance and
asset finance industries. Martin led the FLA for 12 of its first 15
years and worked tirelessly to ensure that the views of lenders
were represented at the highest levels in Westminster and
Brussels.”

Hall continues to chair the Joint Money Laundering Steering
Group’s (JMLSG) Board of Directors and is chairman of the Money
Advice Trust (MAT).
