The representative body is assisting the automotive industry’s
campaign for the European Commission to establish a more integrated
approach to carbon emission reduction, and is also encouraging the
creation of well run managed fleets that are better able to respond
to green issues.

Also, Leaseurope’s Accounting and Taxation Committee has been
instrumental in preparing papers for the IASB on options for lease
contracts.

John Bennett, the head of Bank of America vendor finance, and
the person expected to replace Jean Marc Mignerey as chairman of
Leaseurope, aims to use his expected new role “to ensure that the
leasing industry will continue to be fairly represented at all
levels” and signal a fresh wave of lobbying.
