The Swedish market plunged over 36 percent in November compared
to one year ago. The country’s association of vehicle manufacturers
said that there had been a drop from 27,706 cars registered in
November 2007 to 17,616 last month.

In France, registrations were 14 percent down in November,
falling a further 7 percent from October figures. Registrations for
new Citroen-Peugeot cars fell by around 17 percent, while sales for
Renault were up of some 2 percent, according to the French car
manufacturers’ association.
In Spain car sales fell by almost 50 percent, the biggest fall
in 16 years, while in Italy they were almost 30 percent down. The
drop also involved Fiat, Italy’s biggest carmaker, where sales were
around 28 percent down.
