auctioneers have announced booming sales in convertibles
recently.
Manheim Auctions has just held its first BMW
convertible auction, selling 197 vehicles for a total of £3.5
million (€4.1 million).

The company said it had
134 buyers – more than a third of whom used Manheim Auctions’
online tool Simulcast for their bidding. The vehicles achieved
111.9 percent CAP Clean, Manheim said. Over 90 percent of the
vehicles were sold to BMW franchised dealers.
Separately, fleet lessors
Lex Autolease and Black Horse have sold over 300 convertibles at
the latest British Car Auctions (BCA)
convertible event.
In total, 319 vehicles
were offered, and 309 were sold totalling £3.6 million, BCA said.
The sale attracted over 200 buyers to the BCA auction site in
Brighouse, with a further 100 dealers bidding via the internet.
