Independent lessor Bluestone Leasing is to
expand its UK presence by opening a new office in Stockport in
addition to its Wakefield base.

Bluestone more than doubled its business in
the 12 months to end-September. The positive performance was a
turning point for the company after a tough 2009 and early
2010.

“We feel we’re turning a corner and we can
take advantage of that,” Vineesh Madaan, managing director, said.
Bluestone has also experienced a “significant increase” in demand
as bank credit remains restricted.

“We have four staff living on the [Stockport] side of the Pennines. This is saving stress and strain for them.
That’s part of why we decided to open the new office,” Madaan
said.

Sister company  Damar, a business
skills training provider, also operates in the region.

Bluestone specialises in funding for IT,
telecommunications and audiovisual equipment. It also finances
office furniture and intangibles such as software, maintenance and
consultancy.
