Yorkshire Bank’s asset finance team has
financed €1.1 million worth of production equipment at a North
Wales pellet plant, as part of a €4.2 million expansion by timber
manufacturer Clifford Jones Timber Ltd.
The new 20,000-sq ft plant, which has created
20 new jobs in the region, will produce around 40,000 tonnes of
environmentally-friendly wood pellets yearly for use in heating
systems.

The equipment is financed by Yorkshire Bank and includes a wood
pellet press and wet wood burner. The deal was arranged by Mike
Scott, asset finance partner at Yorkshire Bank, while Rob Hall,
partner at Mitchell Charlesworth Chartered Accountants and Business
Advisors, advised on the deal.

It is understood that Clifford Jones Timber now intends to open
a similar, larger plant at its site in Scotland.
