used assets. This month we look at changes in demand for the
agricultural sector.
Tractors – Compact (<50
HP)

- Slight fluctuations noted during the
12-month period for compact tractors with interest shown
predominantly from the grounds care sector.
Tractors – Medium
(50-149HP)
- Principal interest seen during the
first quarter of 2010 which encompasses the new registrations in
March. - New tractor registrations however
down from the same period 2009. - Interest in second user tractors seen
predominantly from trade purchasers possibly with a view to
export.
Tractors – Large
(150HP+)
- Again interest/demand peaked during
the first quarter due to the new registrations. - The general trend appears to be
towards large-capacity tractors at present.
Combine
Harvesters
- A seasonal market as indicated by
demand. - New combine sales in the UK are
currently above ‘average’ for the sector. - Strongest demand seen for
small/medium-capacity machines. - Second user demand has been strong in
collective sales.

- Again a seasonal market,
predominantly during the spring and summer months. - Some demand noted in new large square
balers during the last quarter. However demand appears down from
2009.
Sprayers
- Limited demand noted for
large-capacity self-propelled units, however overall demand down
from recent years.
