Société Générale Leasing Solutions, including fleet arm ALD Automotive, was the largest leasing organisation in Europe in 2014, with total new business (within Europe) of 13.96bn according to the latest Leaseurope Ranking of European Leasing Companies.
The company experienced a 1.9m growth in total new business compared to 2013. Société Générale has been topping the ranking for three consecutive years, after taking the first place from BNP Paribas in 2012.

BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions -including Arval- retained the second position, with 13.4bn of total new business. This was an increase of approximately 1.5bn on 2014 figures, although the gap with its compatriot French lessor expanded from 0.05bn in 2013 to 0.5bn last year.
Volkswagen Leasing retained both the third place in new business volumes, 12.2bn, as well as the top spot in the number of new contracts with 516,808.
De Lage Landen and Deutsche Leasing rounded out the top five, with 10.04bn and 7.9bn worth of new business respectively.
64 parent or stand alone leasing companies participated in the survey, 2 more than 2013’s ranking.
