Independent Growth Finance (IGF), a UK-wide commercial finance provider, has appointed Matt Shepherd as commercial director.

Shepherd has nearly 20 years’ experience in finance with a focus on business development and asset-based lending.

Shepherd is a former UK head of business development and client management for the ABL division at CYBG (previously Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank).

Shepherd also has eight years’ experience heading up business development for RBS Invoice Finance in London and the South East.

In his new role, IGF said Shepherd will be focused on helping the team reach a wider audience across the whole of the UK. His remit will include helping the sales team to deliver more as well as developing new regional markets for IGF.

Shepherd will be working alongside Jon Hughes, senior director of IGF, who will now focus on strengthening the company’s presence in London, particularly within the private equity and debt advisory communities.
