Rivers Leasing has appointed Stephen Bassett, the former managing director of Arkle Finance, as a non-executive director.
Bassett brings more than 40 years of asset finance and leasing sector experience to the organisation, with much of his career spanning senior management and directorship roles at organisations including Schroder Leasing, Lloyds & Scottish Finance, Lombard, Wyse Leasing and Broadcastle.

In that time he has managed many different specialist departments in most aspects of the industry, and has been involved in the design or provision of all relevant financial instruments, processes and systems, said a spokesperson for Rivers Leasing.
Having recently retired from his full time role as managing director of Arkle Finance, a subsidiary of Wetherbys Bank, where he oversaw the growth of the Arkle Finance portfolio from £30m to £85m, he now joins Rivers Leasing as a non-executive director.
