GE Capital UK has made two senior appointments at its London
office. The specialist finance provider has promoted Stephan Caron
to commercial leader and Cyr Paillard to marketing leader. Caron
has been working in various roles at GE Capital since 1999. Most
recently, he was responsible for government relations and strategic
partnerships for GE Capital EMEA.

Gatehouse Bank

London-based Gatehouse Bank has hired Michael Bavington as
vice-president for asset finance. The Sharia-compliant wholesale
investment bank added Bavington to its team as part of a business
growth strategy which will see new recruits in the bank strengthen
its UK product offer UK to international markets across South-East
Asia and the Gulf.

Suedleasing

Germany’s Suedleasing has appointed Juergen Haller as its new
head. Haller was spokesman of Suedleasing’s managing board. He will
keep his position as executive board member at regional retail bank
Baden-Württem-bergische Bank (BW-Bank). His predecessor Sebastian
Goering resigned at the end of July.

 

BRE Leasing

Poland’s BRE Leasing president Mieczysław Groszek is to step
down at the end of 2010 after eight years at the helm. He will be
succeeded by Mieczyslaw Wozniak, who previously headed BPH Leasing,
part of GE Money Bank owned BPH Bank.

 

CIT

CIT has named David Moffett to its board of directors. He will
serve as a member of the lender’s audit committee. He was
previously CEO at Freddie Mac. The New York-headquartered lessor
has also appointed Margaret Tutwiler as head of communications,
marketing and government relations, reporting to CEO John
Thain.

 

DLL

De Lage Landen (DLL) has appointed Frans Overdijk as chief
financial officer. Overdijk has 25 years’ experience in banking,
including several senior management positions at DLL’s parent bank
Rabobank Group. Tom Meredith joins DLL as president for its global
business unit, food and agriculture. Before joining DLL, he worked
at GE Capital.

 

Conister

Conister Finance and Leasing, the recently-formed UK subsidiary
of Conister Bank, has hired two new broker managers. Neil
Landsborough and Mike Hirst, who have both moved from positions at
Clydesdale Asset Finance, will develop Conister’s relationships
with SME-focused asset finance brokers in the North West and South
West regions respectively.

 

IAA-Advisory

Leasing expert Alan Leesmith has joined IAA-Advisory as director
of international business, with a brief covering the Middle East,
Asia and Australia. He was previously principal of the European
region at the Alta Group, a business partner of IAA-Advisory.

 

Manheim
Remarketing

UK vehicle auctioneer Manheim Remarketing has appointed George
Grant as operations director.
