Shares in P2P market lender Lending Club jumped 65% to $24 (€19.3) per share last night after its New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) launch yesterday, valuing the firm at nearly $10bn.

In a release, Lending Club said that it had originally priced its stock of 58m shares of common stock at a price to the public of $15.00 per share.

Lending Club, like other P2P lenders, connects borrowers and lenders and then takes a fee for the service.

The company saw its revenue grow from $1.3m in 2009 to $98m in 2013, and said it has financed more than $6.2bn of loans since its founding, and can provide asset finance as part of its business loans service.
