LeasePlan Italia has won a tender
to supply Consip, an Italian public stock company, with commercial
vehicles worth just over €8.8 million.

The Italian branch of
Dutch-headquartered LeasePlan will provide Consip, which is owned
by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, with some 560 light
commercial vehicles under a 12-month long-term rental agreement,
with the possibility of an extension of 12 extra months.

LeasePlan beat three other potential
suppliers by offering the most economic tender. It offered Consip a
14 percent reduction on the starting price of the auction.

The LCVs to be supplied by LeasePlan
Italia include Fiat Panda vans, Fiat Doblo Cargo vans, Renault
Master vans, Renault Master Combi vans and Renault Traffic
pick-ups.

LeasePlan Italia has recently won
several tenders with Consip.

Last year, the fleet and vehicle
management company, part of a network that manages more than 1.3
million vehicles in total, was awarded one of its most significant
contracts with Consip.

Under the terms of that long-term
rental agreement, LeasePlan supplied the public body with around
2,400 units for almost €27 million over a period of 12 months.

Consip was created in 1997 and
specialises in complex projects in the fields of information
technology, organisational processes, emerging technologies and
communications. It works closely with the Italian Ministry of
Economy.
