Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has appointed Dr. Hubertus Muenster as Director for Sales, Rental and Distribution Management, as part of a strategic transformation of its Sales & Marketing division.
The company announced the appointment in a recent press release, citing efforts to “enhance customer proximity and operational agility” across its European business.

Dr. Muenster brings over 20 years of industry expertise, including leadership roles in distribution strategy and international sales. Prior to joining HCME, he served as Head of Sales, Marketing, Network Excellence Development, and Product Management at a major global construction equipment manufacturer, where he led the European sales organization and drove “transformation and performance through market orientation and brand value refinement,” the company said.
HCME, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., was established in 1972 and operates out of Oosterhout, The Netherlands.
In addition to Dr. Muenster’s appointment, HCME announced organisational changes intended to streamline decision-making and bring leadership closer to the customer. Two key areas, Business Solutions & Customisations and Marketing & Brand Communication, will now report directly to HCME President & CEO Francesco Quaranta.
René Koops has been named Director, Business Solutions & Customizations, where he will continue to lead product management efforts focused on meeting the specific needs of European customers.
