The Board of Directors elections for the National Leasing Association of Iran, held on 28 July 2025 at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Tehran, have resulted in the re-appointment of Mohammad Hadi Moghaei as a board member.
Moghi, a respected figure in Iran’s leasing sector with extensive professional, academic, and executive experience, served as the Association’s first Secretary General. His leadership during that period saw notable achievements, including securing the addition of an article to national law that exempts profits from leasing companies’ facilities from value-added tax. He also played a key role in drafting legislation shaping Iran’s leasing law.

The Association elects seven board members every three years through its General Assembly, with nominees drawn from professionals recognised for their contributions to the leasing industry. Moghaei’s return is seen as a continuation of his longstanding commitment to advancing the sector in Iran.
The National Leasing Association of Iran, also known as the Iranian Leasing Companies Association, was established in 2002 by a group of private leasing firms under the umbrella of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce.
Hadi Moghaei said: “Without a place in the government’s development plans, the leasing industry cannot thrive. A dedicated law, passed by parliament, is more than legislation — it’s a clear statement that leasing is essential to the nation’s economic future.”
About the Association’s plans he said: “The board is taking a new direction with a fresh strategy. We must reassess the legal framework, ease regulatory pressures, and improve the business climate. At the same time, competing effectively with LendTech is crucial as Iran’s FinTech sector evolves.”
