The course is expected to open in Spring 2013 and will include modules focusing on the risks and business change issues facing students’ own businesses as well as IFS modules specially selected and adapted to the asset finance industry. Students will also have access to relevant IFSand FLA workshops and events.

Stephen Sklaroff, FLA director general, said he was very pleased FLA members would be able to benefit from a "globally-recognised, rigorous and highly respected professional qualification which will enhance professional knowledge and understanding while ensuring candidates understand asset finance in a wider context."

Martin Day, IFS School of Finance vice-principal, said: "The Professional Certificate in Banking is an industry benchmark qualification for those starting out in, or aspiring to, a management career in financial services. In working with the FLA we have been able to tailor the qualification to make sure it meets the needs of the asset finance industry.
