The Asset Finance Professionals Association (AF-PA) raised over £50,000 for charity last year.

December was a significant month for AF-PA with both the annual networking gathering at Marylebone Sports Bar and AF-PA backed Christmas charity lunch at the Institute of Directors (IoD) contributing significantly to the amount raised.

AF-PA achieved £12,000 in fundraising at the Marylebone sports bar with attendees from all levels of the industry donating money for charities Off the Fence and British Lung Foundation (BLF).

The BLF contribution was in memory of John Allen, the founder and developer of Finlex, the finance management system for SME lenders.

AF-PA said the charity Christmas Lunch, with over 200 attendees, had raised £30,800 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

2017/8 AF-PA chair Johnnie Halliday said the events in 2017 had over 550 attendees at the three AF-PA events and raised and distributed £50,800 for its chosen charities.
