What was your first ever
job? I started as a bank employee in a local Norwegian
bank, Bergens Kreditbank.
Where’s the best place to go
if you want to find out what’s really going on in the
office?
In the open-plan office where the most part
of our employees are located.
What time do you usually leave
the office? Approximately 5pm.
What do you do at
weekends? I often work in our garden, or I go fishing on
the ocean. Eventually, I may relax by listening to good music or
just read a good book.

restaurant? One of our famous fish restaurants in Bergen,
Norway, ie, Enhjøringen or Bryggeloftet.
If you weren’t in your current
job, what would you be doing? I would be a musician, as I
like to play the flute and recorder.
Who is your mentor or role
model? My wife. She is clever, and gives me direct answers
when I need it.
What is the best thing about
your job? The challenge is perpetual: Always look ahead,
always to be in front of the risk development. The best thing is to
challenge my colleagues about different risk-based issues.
What was your biggest career
mistake? Some years ago we had unexpectedly high losses in
a part of our company. We should have seen the signs earlier, but
we learned from it.
What car do you
drive? A Ford Kuga 2011 model.
What books/blogs/periodicals
are you currently reading? I have just finished a book
about Pakistan, De renes land, written by a Norwegian
journalist who has travelled a lot through the country. An
interesting and well written book.
What is on your CD player or MP3 player at the
moment? I enjoy all kinds of music. At the moment I play
different sort of summer music, but I very much like blues, rock
and opera.
