Evidence has emerged of an increased use of
leasing by the IT sector, with Syscap claiming it saw a 127 percent
increase in vendor partnerships during 2009.
The IT lessor and lease broker said
that in the year to December 2009 it signed 62 vendor
partnership agreements, compared to just 49 during the same period
in 2008. Syscap now has in excess of 800 IT vendor
partnerships.

Syscap also reported that business through its
web portal, Syscap Online, grew year-on-year during 2009 by 69
percent.
This growth was linked to Syscap’s online
partnerships with vendors – its so-called Option One programme –
which embed the lessor’s finance into their product and service
offerings, the lessor added. These vendors include Infor, Autodesk,
Parametric Technology Corporation, and Imago Group.
