Vic Lock, the popular and highly respected founder of
Leasing Life, has died, following a long illness.

Vic started the magazine 16 years ago after a strong background in
publishing, which included editing Asset Finance & Leasing
Digest
between 1986 and 1992.

Having founded Leasing Life in 1993, through his use of
skill and determination as well as sheer hard work, which often
meant working 12-hour days as well as weekends, the magazine
developed a strong brand and a loyal readership base.

To this day he is still fondly remembered by a large number of
lessors, not just in Britain but also across Europe. They warmed to
his personality and to the fact that, in launching Leasing
Life
, he provided, for the first time, a proper forum for
news, gossip and opinion for the European leasing community. He
retired six years ago.

Besides his journalism, Vic also planned, prepared and participated
in a string of conferences at Leasing Life, a skill which
he inherited from his days at the Euromoney-owned Asset Finance
& Leasing Digest
where he led such industry events as the
International Rail Finance Conference and the Aircraft Finance
School.

His funeral will take place on Monday 9 November at the Colchester
Cemetery and Crematorium. Those wishing to are welcome to make
donations to St Helena Hospice
(http://www.sthelenahospice.org.uk).

We at Leasing Life would like to extend our deepest
condolences to Vic’s family and friends. However, his legacy lives
on in the name of our publisher, VRL Financial News – which takes
its name from his initials.
