Daimler Financial Services (DFS) financed 183,000 finance or leasing contracts over the first eight months of 2014, 11% above the amount recorded in the same period 2013.
Over 900,000 commercial vehicles had contracts with DFS with the current value of all active contracts standing at around 30bn, according to a statement from the firm.

DFS’s global penetration rate for commercial vehicles stands at approximately a third of all vehicles sold; in India, where DFS is represented by BharatBenz, the company said the figures were closer to one in four.
DFS also revealed that Chinese new business doubled year-on-year in August, while US business was up 17% and Germany up 20%.
A spokesman for DFS said; "Financing customers are currently paying special attention to flexibility. This is particularly important in the commercial vehicles sector, in order to be able to respond to seasonal variations in utilization, brief spikes in demand and limited-duration jobs."
