Jones said: “My aim is to maintain the high
profile enjoyed by the NACFB over the past couple of
years. Our focus this year includes training and education,
member benefits and increasing the membership and patronage.”

Simpson, who is owner-director of brokerage
Asset Finance Solutions (UK) Limited, said he hoped to encourage
lenders to reconsider their relationship to the broker market.

“We want to help the broker community to be in
the sights of funders so that we are recognised as professional
route to good quality business. Too many funders view brokers as
the dark side of leasing. Nobody forced them to underwrite the
business [during the boom years, leading to some bad debt]. There
may be some scapegoating going on.”

Chief executive Adam Tyler said: “This will no
doubt be another challenging year. It’s vital that the NACFB has a
strong board to guide its members through this difficult period.”
NACFB has 750 members of which 150 are asset finance brokers, and
the remainder commercial finance and property brokers.
