Raiffeisen Leasing Bulgaria has signed
agreement with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for a
€20m loan.
Raiffeisen, part of Austrian bank Raiffeisen
International, will use the credit to fund leasing deals with local
SMEs.

The funds will be granted to Bulgarian
companies to support the SME sector to allow them to purchase
machinery and equipment, as well as creating new jobs and
preserving the existing staffing levels, Raiffeisen said in a
statement.
Raiffeisen Leasing Bulgaria was granted
another €20m loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (EBRD) in May for the same purpose.
Raiffeisen is also part of theJEREMIE (Joint
European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises) initiative
through which the European Investment Fund (EIF) has signed
guarantee agreements with several Bulgarian banks allowing them to
provide up to €400m of new loans to Bulgarian SMEs.
