Mediocredito Italiano, banking group Intesa Sanpaolo’s corporate finance and leasing arm, has appointed Rony Hamaui as director general, as part of a wider group concentration strategy.
The appointment follows the assimilation of Mediofactoring, the group’s factoring division, as well as Agriventure, Intesa’s agricultural sector-dedicated branch, into its corporate finance arm.

Hamaui has held several positions within the group, including chief executive of Mediofactoring itself, and holds the presidency of Assifact, the Italian association for factoring.
Hamaui said heading Intesa’s corporate finance group would be "a great honour".
"As of today, new competencies and professionals have been assimilated into a well-formed structure," he explained, and described Mediocredito as "strong in its ability to provide strategic offerings to businesses engaged in medium to long term credit activities, leasing and now factoring and agribusiness as well."
