Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring
(CAL&F) has received a €150m line of credit from the Council of
Europe Development Bank (CEB) to fund public sector projects.

The credit line was granted following an agreement between
CAL&F’s French parent bank Crédit Agricole and the CEB in
May.

The credit line, which begins with an initial €37.5m loan, will
enable CAL&F to help fund local authority projects in health,
education and the environment.

Crédit Agricole has stated that the development of the regions it
operates in through social investments is a principle aim for the
group and it will actively prioritise local authority projects.

CAL&F issued a statement outlining three priority areas
which the company will fund using the CEB credit line.

·        Health: the
construction or restoration of retirement homes with medical care
and the purchase of material and equipment.

·        Environment: public
infrastructure projects that include an aspect of energy
efficiency.

·        Education: the
construction or restoration of schools and universities, including
accessibility.

The initial loan has already been allocated for the construction
of two new secondary schools in Moselle, a home for elderly
dependants in Loire and an energy station for a hospital in
Toulouse.

Crédit Agricole’s regional banks will work with CAL&F as
financing partners.
