NetSol appoints US CFO
Asset finance software firm NetSol Technologies has appointed Kevin F Pickard as its US-based chief financial officer. Pickard will report to NetSols chairman and chief executive, Najeeb Ghauri, and work alongside Boo-Ali Siddiqui who will continue as chief financial officer for NetSol Technologies Pakistan. California-based NetSol provides software for the global leasing industry including lease contract management programmes and fleet management systems
GE Capital doubles profit in 2011
GE Capital, the finance arm of US industrial conglomerate GE, has posted a $6.5bn (4.9bn) profit for 2011 up some 107% from 2010. GE Capital Commercial Lending and Leasing (CLL), the segment which includes global equipment finance operations, posted $2.7bn in profits for the 12 months to 31 December 2011, representing a 75% increase on the figure for 2010.
Lombard hires five for middle office functions
The positions are in the RBS-owned companys middle office function and include Adam Tait, who joins as head of the Specialist In-Life team which incorporates Unit Stocking, Helicopters and Solar, and Karen Mouatt, who joins as Unit Stocking team manager.
BNP Paribas hires two for CV leasing arm in UK
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions has appointed two area sales managers to its UK commercial vehicle division. Andy Bowyer joins as area sales manager for the Northern region while Ian Swindell takes responsibility for the Midlands. Both Bowyer and Swindell will report to Keith Sangwin, head of dealer accounts with the French-owned lessor.

The leasing arm of the French bank and the UK-based systems company have signed a European Framework Agreement in which BNP Paribas LS will offer total cost of ownership (TCO) rental options for Sages X3 ERP (enterprise resource planning) software.

Media & lack of funding blamed for 2012 gloom
Small businesses in the UK which use invoice finance are more confident of growth in 2012 than those who dont, but overall negativity prevails. A survey conducted by invoice finance broker Hilton-Baird Financial Solutions found 50% of companies which use invoice finance facilities anticipated growth in 2012 compared to 31% of all SMEs questioned.
